We met this young filmmaker’s early and passionate, with his actor Guillaume Gouix. A film written at 17 years old, achieved at 18 years, and is currently presented at festivals, while his director was only 19 years old (with the tray in the pocket), the journey of Nathan Ambrosioni off the beaten path, and surprises by his precocity. The young filmmaker, a native of the Côte d’azur, has made Flags of paper, with a nice cast, Guillaume Gouix and Noémie Merlant, who have both followed in this adventure, and which was believed as the producer Stéphanie Douet (Sensito Films). Flags of paper will be released on February 13, 2019, after the season of the festivals fall (there is passed through Namur in Belgium and has been doubling the award-winning La-Roche-sur-Yon last week, and then distinguished himself at the Mostra de Valencia in Spain this weekend). The team Flags of paper accompanying the film on tour, which will include the Angers Premiers Plans Festival. Synopsis : He is 30 years old and has just emerged from prison after 12 years behind bars. It has everything to learn in a world that he knows more. It, soon 24, is leading a life without excess, and can barely make ends meet. When it comes to find, things are a bit hectic but she is willing to help him resume a normal life. It was his brother after all, his brother, whose anger can become uncontrollable and destroy everything despite himself. AlloCiné : Nathan, how have you managed to implement this feature film project so young? Nathan Ambrosioni , screenwriter and director of Flags of paper : I started wanting to make films when I was 12 years old. This is where I made my first film experiences : I was making films for fun with friends. I was really passionate and I really enjoyed it. I told myself that I wanted to continue to do that. It was a learning that happened throughout my teenage years, which continues today. And I wrote The Flags papieren wondering if it was going to be. I was not thinking at all. I wanted to go to the next step, to do things in accordance. Finally, Stephanie Douet has loved and it is through it that it was done. There, she thought. It is true that this is not easy to convince a production when it was 17 years ago, saying ‘I have a script’. Ca liked Stephanie, and lo and behold, the film is made. It was a great adventure and a great experience. How have you done for this producer you follow ? There is inevitably a form of mistrust when one is young… come Back and see us later, etc, Nathan Ambrosioni : there was of it, I have had returns like that. ‘Do school, and come and see us after.’ Stephanie Douet has read the script without worrying about what was around. She has read it as he was. It is a first film, that she has read, blank of all feeling. It is done naturally. She met me as a director older. This is because she was not afraid that it was done like that, because she has not had a priori. She was considered a director who at the had 30. Sensito Films Guillaume Gouix in Flags of paper from Nathan Ambrosioni Guillaume, did you know that it was the project of a young producer when you were sent the scenario ? Guillaume Gouix , actor : I had explained before I met him. I had no a priori. When I read the scenario, what touched me right away, it is the relation brother-sister, and how these people will be able to love from the moment they are no longer required to love one another. How predefines places in families. You can live from the moment you move these seats. You can break them. It is entities, not appendages. There was very quickly a meeting with Nathan ; I read very quickly. It was so obvious to him. He arrived with his backpack, had ordered a Coke. He did not know Paris. He had the nerve that he had in his scenario. I am not asking for it : to make films that are adventures. It was this base, where everything seemed easy. Flags of paper, with Guillaume Gouix and Noémie Merlant, the teaser : flags of paper – Teaser from Sensito Films on Vimeo . When you presented the film at The Festival de la-Roche-sur-Yon, thou hast rightly spoken of this nerve to Nathan… Guillaume Gouix : This is one of the first things I told him when we decided to make the film together. There were a few ways to do it, but I was convinced that it had to be done immediately, or never. It was necessary to take advantage of this energy. It is a film that was in the present, and most importantly, I said to him ‘make a film of your age’. It is my opinion, but he needed to make use of it. You don’t try to imitate a guy of 40 year-old : ‘Make a film with what you are, you’. His film has something very organic. What he feels, he puts it, without asking the question of codes. It was exciting to do.
